For his contributions to the field, William was recently awarded (summer of 2024)
4 different awards from 3 different professional conferences (Pacific North West Hypnosis Conference Leader in the Field of Hypnotism, The HEal Conference in Las Vegas Award for Influential Leadership in Healthcare and National Guild of Hypnotists 2 awards, the Order of Braid Lifetime Achievement Award and the Spirituality and Hypnotism Award) for his work in Hypnotism, Healthcare and Education. Previously he was awarded the prestigious “Hypnotist of the Year” from the Mid America Hypnosis Conference in Chicago and twice the NGH Religion and Hypnotism Award. The National Guild of Hypnotists in 2004 Awarded William the Lifetime Achievement Award the Order of Braid. He is the founder of the popular St. Louis Heartland Hypnosis Conference held the last weekend of April each year since 2014.

William Mitchell is a Certified Instructor for the National Guild of Hypnotists. He is also a former adjunct faculty member at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, IL serving on their Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) Panel. Since 2003, William has served as the clinical director at Personal Motivation Hypnosis Clinic in Springfield, IL focused primarily on stop smoking, weight control, overcoming fears and improving performance. He currently works with several hundred one-on-one clients each year in his hypnosis clinic.

Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts from Culver-Stockton College in Missouri and graduate theological education at Texas Christian University Brite Divinity School and Phillips Graduate Seminary in Oklahoma with an earned Master of Divinity. Rev. Mitchell is also the Senior Pastor of
First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Atchison, KS close to Kansas City.

William Mitchell also offers a clean, funny and amazing perspective on the power of the mind, psychology, and hypnotism. He presents and entertains with Comedy Stage Hypnosis Shows which are always appropriate and hilarious. William has conducted over 1,000 stage hypnosis events. His clients have included high schools, colleges, conventions, and corporate events.

The Rev. Mitchell is a single father of 1 teenage daughter in college and 2 young married adult children, a son in Nashville, TN and a daughter in Indianapolis IN area. Now a grandfather to their 5 babies.
