Sunday 4-6pm Clinical Room 2

“Why Must I Test My Client? He Looks Like He Is Hypnotized To Me”

FORMAT: 1 Hour: Lecture and Discussion. Attendees will be heavily encouraged to present their own
cases or examples.
2 Hour: Lecture, Discussion, and Practice. As preceeding, but also including having the Attendees
perform Convincers on one another and report the results to the Class.

ProgramDescription: Except for those trained in a few specific modalities, most hypnotists never test their clients to prove trance, or they test very seldom and only sporadically. Usually this is the result of fear on the part of the hypnotist — that the test may fail; that they will embarrass themselves in front of the client; that if anything occurs out of the ordinary they will not know how to handle it. When fear isn’t the excuse for not testing, ignorance usually is — ignorance of what proper testing can do for the hypnotist in his/her practice.

BehavioralLearning: This Presentation will train the Clinical Hypnotist in the use of Testing as Convincers, thus improving effectiveness.
It will do this by having the Attendees:
1. Discuss the connection between Tests and Convincers;
2. Discuss successes and failures of Sessions which did or did not use adequate Convincers
3. After comparing the presented Convincers, the Attendees will create their own either totally “from scratch” or by modifying the Convincers shown in Class,
4. Attendees will apply this knowledge by actual application (2 Hour variant) of Tests and Convincers on their Classmates.
