Clinical Hypnotherapy in the Treatment of Addictions
Lecture, guided notes, audience participation, Q&A

ProgramDescription: Addiction takes place when the brain’s reward system has been hijacked and neural pathways have been redirected. The reward system is activated by pleasure derived through various stimuli: substances, compulsive behaviors and relationships. Clinical hypnotherapy uses the power of the subconscious mind to realign the reward system and reset neurotransmitters. By utilizing the three components that make up the holistic individual (mind, body and spirit), hypnotic suggestions play a vital role in creating healthy neural connections for sustained recovery.

BehavioralLearning: 1. Identify the Disease of Addiction and describe the Reward Center
2. Describe Neuro-Plasticity and discuss Reprogramming the Hedonic Set Point
3. Demonstrate Clinical Hypnotherapy as a Tool in Sustained Recovery
